One more step closer...

We are one step closer to FINALLY having our kitchen done. Remember these gems?

I was so happy to have an open kitchen when the wall came down and the tile was finished. Then I was just sick to death of the UGLY color on our cabinets. So last October I decided to do it myself. I did them white with a black glaze. We then made the island bigger and FINALLY got the counter top for it.

What a transformation! We still need to update lighting, sink, back counter top and the back splash but baby steps. If only we were rich and could do it all at once.
Spring is coming so it is off to the back yard.

Oh how things change---

We recently added to our family with our sweet little Emree. She stole my heart the moment I saw her. She is just perfect. It was like she was part of our family all along. Nothing seems to be different around here,  yet they also changed to much. I was so scared to have a little girl. I wanted one (eventually) but was very nervous of all the things that come with a girl. I have such a sweet hearted little boy and a second later a full on little boy crashing things and going crazy. That was life here, it was how I knew things. What would I do with a girl??? I don't like pink, I don't like frilly girly things. I found myself telling people that I didn't like pink and didn't really want my daughter wearing pink. But if you could see her now...turns out I don't really hate pink as much as I was saying. Perhaps I just really don't like pink on me but find it perfect on my little girl. So as things change around here so am I. I am embracing the frilly, girly girl inside me.

I just found this post from who knows when...MAN I WAS CRAZY! I am over the top with girly and Emree.

TIME

Who has time to do this bloggin thing anymore??? I really wish I could keep up on this. As I look back at old posts and remember it is awesome. I am going to try to do better at this.
So many things have changed where to even start...how about here with this sweet face.

Okay, I know this is a super old picture of my baby girl but is such a good one to start with. Emree at 2 months. Time has flown by with this one. One is right around the corner and I am already sad about it.

Somethings to remember at 10 months;

You are into EVERYTHING
For some reason you really like the taste of cat and dog food and are racing back to it at any chance you get.
You love your brother so much. He can make you laugh by doing to strangest things. (he seems to hate that you get into all of his stuff. I keep telling him it will only get worse)
You still have no "stranger danger" in you. You love everyone and everyone loves you.
You are going to walk before Christmas I am sure. You get braver everyday. I think you hate that you can't do it by now and that is why you are yelling all the time.
You still have no teeth and want to eat everything that we are eating. Mommy is running out of idea's for new foods for you.
You are only sleeping through the night about 3 nights a week. Mommy is exhuasted. You just want to be cuddled up with your blankie again and it is back to sleep.
You love Wrigley and Hershy. You are trying to get to them all the time. Wrigley kisses you like crazy and you love it and Hershy runs away. (must be your father in you)
You could play in the bath for hours. If the water didn't get cold I might let you.

Week in Review

I think Talon may have had the best week ever! I missed loading eating Valentines Treats, but who really wants to see that mess anyway. He went bowling with the family. First Jazz game ever and playing in the snow on Sunday. What could be better.

When we bought our house there was an office with cute french doors right next to the kitchen. As cute at the office was, it made the kitchen super small.

We decided to take the wall down and rip up the ugly linoleum in the kitchen.

We then built a small mud room, and then tiled the entire area.

And the finished produt looks like this...minus a few decorating idea's I need to get done. We also are going to create a new island/bar. This one is just way to small and I was hoping for a breakfast bar sort of thing.

Housing Update

WE CLOSED!!!
We closed on the next Strong residence (hopefully final) on Tuesday the 22nd. There were a few hiccups that was going to make it so we didn't get the keys until Monday but magically things worked out and we got them Friday. Last night was spent going through the house and collecting junk. See it was a short sale and the house was FILLED with stuff. Some trash, some treasures and some stuff we can sell. $$$ We are very excited to soon be living in South Jordan. It sure took us a lot longer to find a house then we anticipated but worth every second in the end. We got the yard, house and neighborhood we were searching for. There is lots of work to be done, cleaning, carpet, cleaning, painting, cleaning, wall moving, did I mention cleaning? I really don't get how people can let their home get so dirty. I wish I could get some pictures posted. Perhaps just some before and afters later on.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
We spent Thanksgiving this year up in Kaysville with the Strong's. It was a delicious dinner and great company. Talon had a blast playing cars, running around with the older kids and wrestling with Uncle Ray. I love Thanksgiving. For sure my favorite holiday. It is nice to just sit and have a nice meal with family and not have to worry about gifts or birthday cake. Not to mention my favorite foods, turkey, MASHED POTATOES, and Cheesecake. Hope your Thanksgiving was just as lovely.

Pictureless

Time for an update.
With our camera cord in storage (I hope) this is all we are getting people.
In case you have been living a cave for the last month and half or can't read my thoughts the Strong's sold there ever so lovely home in West Jordan in hopes of finding something on a little larger lot. and by little I mean a LOT BIGGER. Even though Troy and I were so in love with our house the yard lacked in size. It had everything we needed, grass, patio and veggie garden but with two ex softball/baseball players we are hoping to find something to hold a batting cage.
So for the past month and half while living with Mamma Jarvie we have been searching for the dream home. More difficult that one might think. There always seems to be something missing. So the search continues.

Talon has been loving life here at Grandma's. Spoiled rotten. He immediately starts saying "grandma" the moment we get into the car after we leave the babysitters. Things then get quiet when I explain to him that Grandma is at work. When Grandma does get home from work it is straight out side to pick up Apple's and throw them in the canal. He tells Grandma all about his day and show her each and every Apple out there. If they are in luck they see the ducks and run inside to get bread before they swim away.
Talon had been enjoying his new batting T. He says "baseball" on a daily basis. He is all about hitting but not so much on shagging the balls. I guess that is what parents are for. Talon has become obsessed with trains since moving to Grandma's. He would watch Thomas all day long if I would let him.

Troy is he enjoying relaxing. He takes Talon to the pond in Murray about 3 times a week for some fishing. Talon has been getting better and reeling in his line.
No deer or elk this year on the hunt. Oh well...better luck next year. I was not so sad about this one since our house constantly smelled of Jerky.

As for me...I am just working away. I ran in the Dirty Dash again in September. So much fun. This time we were smart and took our own water to wash off with. The camping jugs were perfect. Still playing softball on Tuesday nights. That is just enough this year.

All in all we are content here for a while at Grandma's. I am loving this weather and pray for a long fall. Check back soon to see if we finally find a home. You would think with all the houses out there it would be easy. Not the case really.

Dirty Dash

How fun was the DIRTY DASH!!! Loved it! Can't wait to do it again.

Talon Turns 2

Where does the time go? Talon is already two. He actually had three birthday party's this year. The first was in Vegas with they Pyper's. Talon scored a sweet new scooter and had a blast with his cousins on the tramp, water park, pool and play ground.

The second was at Grandma & Grandpa Strong's house. Talon had blast playing basketball with his cousins and scarfing down his cake. There he scored a basketball hoop for his house, a remote control police car and a sweet Yankee hat.

His final and party was at our house with Grandma Jarvie and the Olson clan. I think by this time round Talon understood the singing blowing out of the candles. He scored a Sand and Water table and some much needed summer jammies.

Thank you everyone for making his birthday so special this year. I wanted to keep it really low key and not even do a party. Just shows how much he is loved.

Talon had a healthy check up. He is right on track with weight, height and developmentally. He loves Dr. Okubo and was very helpful with the check up. Of course then the scary nurse with the needle came in and he cried. Not sure if we have ever been to the doctor without crying.

Talon and his best buddie

Sometimes I get the pleasure of watching Talon's best Friend Quin. These two are so funny together. I have to admit there is fighting at times but I am sure it is just a small glimpse of what is to come over the years. I put in a few oldies just so you can see how long they have been together. Quin is almost exactly one month younger than Talon. LOVE THEM!
